Javier Vazquez has been placed on the bereavement list and there’s no timetable for his return to the Marlins, according to Joe Frisaro of MLB.com.

No further details were given. Vazquez struggled in last night’s start against the Phillies as his ERA ballooned to 6.68 and afterward said: “I’m embarrassed the way I’m throwing.”

Vazquez will be eligible to rejoin the active roster Friday and his next scheduled start is Sunday against the Nationals.

What’s he “bereaving”… the loss of being able to throw a baseball?? Baaazzing!

But, with not being a total jerk… hope the best for him and his fam in dealing with whomever was lost.

Aaron, Frisaro’s writeup says it’s a death on his wife’s side. But, oddly, it seems to be written in the future—the time stamp is 739pm tonight.
