Of course he’s older now and may need to reach a fuller recovery to face ML hitters, but he also has the advantage of a ML rehab program (and the fact that he throws sidearm now vs. overhand before should help too).

I’m not saying he’ll be back in 8 weeks again, but even if the 12 weeks becomes 16 weeks he could be a valuable “September callup” for a team who expects to be competing for the postseason around that time. I’d actually be more surprised if he doesn’t pitch again this season.
