Quote of the Day: Ozzie Guillen on Mike Scioscia

Mike Scioscia surpassed 1,000 career victories this week and Ozzie Guillen was asked to describe the differences between him and the Angels manager:

He weighs 200 pounds more than me. He’s bald, I’m not. He reads the scouting report, I not. He has his own way.

Among active managers Scioscia trails only Joe Girardi and Charlie Manuel with a .550 winning percentage, while Guillen ranks seventh at .524 in between Terry Francona and Dusty Baker.

Also, as a formerly skinny shortstop who’s now a plenty portly manager himself Guillen has a lot of nerve picking on Scioscia’s weight. Of course, “Guillen has a lot of nerve …” could refer to just about anything the White Sox manager says, which is why he’s the all-time leader in “Quote of the Day” appearances.

“He has his own way.”

You don’t think he was probably joking about the weight? Humorous hyperbole? I’m seldom going to argue against Guillen just being a horse’s ass, but that read like kidding to me.

No one can argue with you about him being a horses ass, but he goes beyond that, he has to be the most ignorant manager of all time, He’s the real village idiot.

That picture seems to warrant this caption: “Mike Scioscia laughs at your attempts to keep him away from the all-you-can-eat buffet.”

Scioscia becoming the Angels manager was the first nail in the current Dodgers coffin. Him taking the ’88 team as his coaches made that world championship a part of Anaheim, which sucks for this LA (Valley) kid.

No one blocked the plate better, and I wouldn’t mess with the dude at either the buffet or salad bar.
