Don't be annoyed with Roy. He felt it was necessary to go help his family and nobody should judge him on that. That's his business. I do agree with you that if he's not 100% he should be disclosing that to the team so they can do whatever they can to get him healthy again. Even if that means shutting him down for a few weeks or so. It's only May and we're in first place. It wouldn't be the worst thing if that had to happen.

As a Phils fan, I'm kind of peeved with Oswalt. Lifted from the fish game with a back issue. OK, no one faults you for that. You then tell everyone you're OK. No issues at all. Then you go out and throw that abortion against the Padres. Then you leave the club house without talking to anyone and not saying anything to go home to Mississippi to 'Help his family out'. OK Roy, first of all, if theres all kinds of storms and tornadoes, why wouldn't you get your family OUT of Mississippi? OK then you show up 10 days later... and NOW your back is still hurt and 'never got any better'? C'mon. If your back was hurt, was it really a wise decision to go ride an excavator for 10 days? Wouldn't it have been easier to pay other people to do that for you?

Again, no one faults you for having a hurt back. Its the way you've gone about it by denying it was still hurt, then pitched and pitched poorly, then ran away, did hard work, then came back and said its still hurt that upsets people.
