Some people that have no rooting interest in either team have been pointing out for a couple of years that the Yankee’s and Phillie’s lineups were getting old fast and might experience a couple of down years because of old guys with too many years left on their contracts. Every time those people are shouted down. They are still good teams, but old teams do best early in the year…before injuries and the dog days of summer beat down on old bodies.

aceshigh… EXCELLENT description about goofball Swisher! He’s a disgrace to the Pinstripe uniform. It’s a shame that the once proud Yankees would have to resort to bringing in someone of his ilk into the clubhouse… just a shame! The Yankees have always been about proud men… not spoiled frat boys like Swisher who just assume head up a pantie raid at a sorority house than take on the likes of the Red Sox.

Jorge has had a long, great career. He’s stayed productive far longer than most aging catchers, who take a real beating physically.

I think he’s letting pride get the best of him, and it’s not going to play well with Yankee fans.

Simply a case of Father Time catching up with the creaky, aging Yankees. And to think… half the Yankees infield (and 2/3rds of the skill positions), will be occupied by aging, declining players for the next 2 1/2 years too! EHHHH?????

Yeah, forget dropping him IN the lineup, they need to drop him FROM the lineup. Time to bring up Jorge Vazquez. He strikes out a lot, but at least he can occasionally get a hit in a big situation. Posada has failed every single time.

That doesn’t solve the problem, the problem is having him in the line up. He was a good player, but it’s over for him. There are two guys producing in that line up, that’s Cano and Granderson the rest are outs. They need to make major changes asap or they can forget the post season.

Well, fine, but how is this supposed to help at all? Now instead of the Gardner/Jeter black hole that is our 9-1, we have Posada there.
