They’re both washed up and should both retire. Neither of them can throw out any runners, I don’t know how either of them can take up a roster spot. Supposedly if Posada didn’t show any signs of coming around by June 1st. the Yankees were going to release him, but that was before last weekends fiasco so who knows what will happen now. As far as Varitek, Francona is most likely saving his butt. Francona is very loyal to his players especially the ones who have been loyal to him.

What a big, 39 year old baby. If you are a DH and hitting .165 then you cease to be a DH and more like a designated out.
Jason Varitek is hitting .164 but still manages to inspire the play of his teammates by being just that – a good teammate and a professional.
Jorge can take some notes from the other Captain.

It would seem they will avoid having him play against lefties at all; should someone else get hot in those opportunities he may lose playing time permanently.

maybe Nunez should have been in at short.
