Double-A Binghamton’s Edgar Ramirez was suspended for 50 games Monday after testing positive for Methylhexaneamine, ESPN New York’s Adam Rubin reports.

Ramirez, who has been in the Mets system since being drafted in the 36th round out of LSU in 2006, isn’t viewed as a prospect.  The 27-year-old was 0-2 with a 4.91 ERA in two starts and seven relief appearances for Binghamton this season.  Pitching at the same level, he had a 4.93 ERA in 76 2/3 innings last year.
