Nat’s 4 – Buc’s 2. A fairly decent game between two pretty evenly matched teams. The Pirate’s even had a mini rally going in the top of the 9th to make things interesting. First and second, no outs, off Storen, the Nat’s closer (yes Matthew, even these teams have a “closer”) and two sharply hit balls to the OF for the 2nd and 3rd outs. All in all, I was not disappointed.

Now I am going to go watch my Mariners’, one of the worst teams in the league. The Twins’ are in town, another team with one of the worst records in the league (though historicly, one of the better teams in the AL over the past decade). Jack Cust (.222/.377/.291) is hitting cleanup for the M’s tonight. The Mariners’ team BA is .228 (29th in MLB) while the Twins’ are at .231 (28th). Why would I want to watch such a game? How stupid of me.

Why bother posting something like this? Does this make you feel better, to poke fun at rebuilding franchises?

I count 7-8 other teams with worse records than either team. Where’s your immature sarcastic post about them?

It seems to me that both the Bucs and the Nats are playing fairly respectable baseball right now- with what they have to work with. Both are just a bit below .500. I guess you are suggesting that no one should watch any game involving any team below the .500 mark?

I was going to watch one of the other games you also listed at 4:00 (that’s 7:00 for the east coasters’), but NOW it’s Bucs-Nat’s for certain. Oh, I also watched the Nat’s beat the Marlin’s yesterday (It was a good baseball game). How stupid of me.

At least it’s better than when Adam Kennedy batted cleanup for the Mariners.

Let’s see, Ryan Zimmerman is out, Adam LaRoche and Danny Espinosa are hitting south of Mendoza, Jayson Werth isn’t a cleanup hitter (according to Jim Riggleman), Laynce Nix bats lefty (with a lefty pitching), and Mike Morse is still dinged. Though they’re facing Paul Maholm, not Cliff Lee.

THIS JUST IN! The Pirates and Nationals aren’t very good baseball teams and lack big bats in their line ups! Also just in! Cheese is tastey on lasagna!
