In the event you think that Indians catcher Carlos Santana is all bat, feast your eyes on what he does to napping runners hanging out down in no-man’s land at second base.
There is just something, I dunno, dominating about a catcher throwing out a base runner like that. Not on steals — that’s a normal reaction play we see often — but when they seem to say “Uh-uh, you do NOT wander off the bag that far when I’m back here!”
(Thanks to Joe L. for the head’s up)

So in other words, Carlos Santana’s real last name is Molina.

Ok, that was indeed pretty cool. That kid jumped up and fired a strike (looked like a 4 seamer to me) in one motion. Probably the fact that it was Treanor played a part in this, catchers being not exactly fleet of foot, but Santana had him by over a foot. I wonder if he’d have got Reyes? Probably I bet, but it would have been closer.

That was cool, agreed. He runs too well to be a Molina. Maybe a cousin.

Glad Colletti pulled the trigger on that trade…I’d much rather have Casey Blake’s elbow/beard/occasional solo home run with noone on in a blowout loss than that guy.

Just yet another awful transaction courtesy of the Dodgers.
