		<description><![CDATA[Man, I bet Ernest Hemingway would have loved Dice-K.  The writer cornered the market on characters staring failure and futility in the face but enduring nonetheless.  In some manner it&#039;s downright noble of the hurler to head out there knowing he&#039;s fighting a losing battle but giving it a shot.  In the end, trying to pitch with a UCL injury is like trying to haul the carcass of a dead marlin back to shore through shark-infested waters.  It&#039;s not going to happen.

It&#039;s too bad really, Hemingway&#039;s sequel would have been epic: &quot;Another Farewell to Arms.&quot;
