Jorge De La Rosa has pitched well this year, posting a 5-2 record and a 3.34 ERA and helping pick up the slack from a worse-than-expected Ubaldo Jimenez.  But it’s not all beer and Skittles in De La Rosa land, as he was pulled in the third inning of today’s start against the Dbacks with elbow soreness.

There’s no word yet on what the problem was, but according to the AP story, he had a “pained look” on his face.  We’ll update you when we hear something.

Well, there seems to be more elbow problems with pitchers in the league this year as opposed to past recent years. The elbow injury for a pitcher is only secondary to shoulder problems. De La Rosa, if I recall, owned the Phillies recently when they played each other. It was not a fun game to watch.

Craig, as a sidenote, if you are looking for an interesting topic, I have one that I would like to be discussed. This is only a suggestion, of course. Not tying to step on your toes:

“Thumbs up, thumbs down on comments here at HBT, what do they really mean, and do they alter what you say?”
