That’s not why he’s in AAA. He’s down there because as long as he’s off the 25 man roster his salary doesn’t count towards the luxury cap. Granted being terrible during his time in the majors didn’t help, but there’s no way he’s getting another shot.

You can’t call hi Kei Igawa. Igawa didn’t thow the rest of the team under the bus after contributing nothing. In fact, Igawa had a few nice games with the Yankees. I still think he might be a better LOOGY than some of the guys they have brought in since, but I think the Steinbrenner’s pride says they don’t want to be reminded of his existence.

Great news for both Soriano and the Yankees. Tommy John surgery would mean the Yanks might get one useful year out of his three year deal. Hopefully he'll heal and rediscover his dominant ways.
