The Cubs are rapidly approaching "seller" status. I doubt if Soriano would bring much in return despite his HR totals. But Ramirez, Zambrano, Dempster, Byrd, Fukadome, Wood, and perhaps even Soto, could bring some young talent. If they are willing to absorb a good part of the salaries, a fire sale could be in order. Let's face it, the crew they have now is not a winning combination. But they have a great start with Barney and Castro, and Pena provides some real qualities in the character department. Since the Cubs draw no matter who plays, isn't it time to try a different tack?
