yes I was joking but when you suck as bad as he did with the reds and suddenly are having the success he is what other explanation could there be? what at this stage of his career he suddenly gets it? I suppose now you will give some new geek stats that show he was not as awful as in fact he was with the reds which only prove how useless and meaningless these new stats are.

‘nucks; don’t bother with metlhead. He’s a troll.

The common denominator for this team is the hitting coach, Dwayne Murphy. Patterson is drawing more walks as well as hitting. He’s super patient, waits for his pitch and his improved mechanics at the plate see more power, too.

It’s not just him. Remember John Buck, the catcher who’s now with the Marlins? His hitting also improved last season. Bautista is of course the poster boy for improvement. All these guys had serious flaws in their approach. Murphy worked them over so they stand closer to the plate, wait for a particular pitch, hold their hands in better positions and swing thru the ball hard.

Fixing their flaws improved their hitting. John McDonald has seen his slugging % go up. Aaron Hill has recently made adjustments and the changes are starting to show. The injured Adam Lind was on an absolute tear at the plate before his back (which is apparently made of celery sticks) started acting up. You don’t need PEDS for improved technique.

patterson should be tested for ped’s. it is the only possible explanation of how he could from being the totally worthless player he was for the reds to batting .300 today.

Saw only the first inning of this since I was at work. Turns out, that’s all I needed to see. Aaron Hill’s first homer turns out to be a grand salami. Kid knows how to put on a show. 3 game win streak and a series win over the Chi-Sox. Tomorrow the test begins; the Indians are in town. That could be some trouble.

Nice game by Patterson. Bautista was a only 1 for 4 in the game with a RBI single. Danks is a crummy 0 & 8 to start the season and took out his frustration on Bautista when he mouthed off after a Bautista pop out. It was a rather classless display of anger by Danks.
