Samson is suggesting that Logan be careful? He would know. Hers is a quote from the team President:

“Right now, we're not marketing performance"

and this is the same executive who sold UNUSED game tickets for the Halladay perfect game against his own team.

I think it's best to remain quiet, quotidian and modest in one's discourse. Keep to the middle of the road, that's my credo - that's where all the profitable lawsuits happen.

As for the Chihuahua, he's a publicity hog who routinely spouts off on local sports squawk radio here in Macondo on a variety of cultural subjects under the aegis of being a big fan of old movies. His commentary is, of course, generally shallow, misinformed and boring as hell, so his chance of saying anything controversial is pretty minimal. He did put his foot in it by referring to the spasm of financial celiac the Feesh underwent during the 2004-05 interregnum as a "market adjustment," but he was doing Scrooge McLoria's bidding at the time and could perhaps be forgiven for groping for a euphemism for "penury" or "salary dumping."

Ozzie and Chuck also have more name recognition than Logan Morrison. If Logan does get successfully baited, mainstream media will be able to play it up to greater effect because he doesn't have the same reputation among average sports fans that those two do. Not that I disagree with the larger point- I wish everyone had such candor.

If Logan Morrison does actually consume alcohol from time to time, then he must have the will power of a God. If I was a pro athlete, drunk Tweeting would be my undoing. He must have assistants. I also can't imagine him sending all the direct messages to every new follower by himself like he (or his account) does.

I, for one, would prefer tweets that express Morrison's desire to just take it one game at a time or put a good swing on the ball or drive it to the opposite field. These are the things that interest baseball fans!
