I guess I’m way outside the typical age range for most HBT writers and posters, whose idols seem to all come from the 80′s and 90′s. But I do remember Jose Pagan.

Jose Pagan was not my idol; growing up as a Dodger fan, I hated all Giants, of course, though you really couldn’t hate Pagan (the way you could hate Willy McCovey, Orlando Cepeda, or Juan Marichal). But he was a solid, consistent player—not a star like Maury Wills, but he got the job done.
