Werth was the last outfielder on the team and rarely used. Victorino got hurt and Michael Bourn replaced him and got hurt tripping over the bullpen mound at Wrigley in the same game. Since the Phils lost both outfielders in the same game Werth got his chance for extended playing time and made the most of it
