Joba Chamberlain to the disabled list

Jun 8, 2011, 4:50 PM EDT

New York Yankees pitcher Chamberlain poses during media photo day at the team's spring training camp

Before the season started, the Yankees were touted as having the best bullpen in the bigs. Then they lost Pedro Feliciano before he could even get going and then Rafael Soriano (a) pitched poorly; and (b) would up hurt.  And things keep getting worse in that department:  Joba Chamberlain has been sent to the disabled list with a strained flexor muscle.

Chamberlain will be shut down for the next two weeks before he can even be reevaluated, and is expected to miss three or four weeks. On the season he has a 2.83 ERA, a 1.05 WHIP and 24 strikeouts to 7 walks in 28 2/3 innings of relief.
A tough loss for a Yankees team that doesn’t need to get any thinner in the pitching department.

Yeah, my sources tell me he will be spending his DL time at Joe’s All You Can Eat Buffet.

You know, looking at his picture more closely, is it possible that Joba and Fat Joe Blanton have the same biological father? They look alike, love to eat anything that moves, and are now both on the DL. Coincidence? I think not.

Look it up. It’s spelled “Buffet”, spelling master. I know I can’t spell with 100% accuracy, but I know I spelled it correctly.

If you call someone out on a spelling mistake (which is idiotic anyway), at the very least, make sure you know what your talking about. Don’t make youself look like an ass.

Yeah, we don’t let that sorta thing happen around here.

        spudchukar aka Potato Chucker,

Once again, you add a great deal to the conversation. Keep it up. Maybe if you keep trying, you can add 5% to that 70 IQ that you have.

OMG! Those Voodoo dolls I bought in the Village work!

So sorry to hear of your disability, Joba.

  3. randomdigits - Jun 8, 2011 at 4:56 PM

Fist time I can recall the word thinner being used in a story about Joba.

  4. dlevalley - Jun 8, 2011 at 5:04 PM

What is that in the picture behind Joba’s neck? It looks like someone tried to (poorly) photoshop away a ponytail…

You mean the MENTALLY disabled list?

Regardless of your politics i think it shows absolutely no class to attack a child with down syndrome. That is truly disgusting.
