Gee, where’s all the righteous indignation over the Pitcher blowing a kiss at Bryce Harper? Where’s all the judgmental articles, the re-hashing of the “Harper has character issues” articles, the video clips by Ken Rosenthal?

Oh yeah, that’s right. Only Bryce Harper isn’t allowed to actually be human and react when he’s (by most accounts) had to deal with daily provocations from opposing teams.

Every Harper at bat is the 7th game of the world series for every bush league, going nowhere low-A ball pitcher who just wants a Harper strikeout as a trophy for his soon-to-be-ending minor league career. Harper’s in a constant no-win situation, just as he was in Juco (when he was blamed for his two ejections without any consideration of what led to them).

Harper should not have done what he did, but sorry, this obsession with one gesture is getting pathetic. Enough already.

In that picture, I think Shane was just in the heat of the moment. He’s not one of these guys that does the finger to the skies thing. More like Ryan Howard. Just like his idol Barry Bonds, he kisses his fingers and points to the sky, like God Almighty had anything to do with it.

Nitpicking, but to whiff means you have to swing and miss. If Harper struck out because of borderline call, that wouldn’t seem to fit the definition.

Welps, I just got the news. My kid just made the all star team. I will be sure to tell him it’s polite to blow kisses to guys who go yard on you. Which I don’t understand because most guys say *%$7 and stuff like that when it happens. I’m not here to explain to him the meaning behind unwritten rules. It’s my job to report them as I hear them.
