Meet Mrs. Met

Jun 14, 2011, 10:02 AM EDT

Mr. Met Love

I didn’t know there was a Mrs. Met.  I also didn’t know that she married Mr. Met.  And despite learning all of this just now, I find myself sad that they ended up getting a divorce.

If two baseball-headed mascots can’t make love work, what hope do the rest of us poor schmucks have?

(note: I am led to believe that the accompanying photo was taken during Mr. Met’s so-called “lost weekend” following his separation from Mrs. Met. They believed that the time apart would eventually bring them closer together, but alas, such was not the case)

Wonder if the envelope with the $100 was discreetly passed to he by Charlies Samuels?

You didn’t know Mr. and Mrs. Met were married? How do you think she got the Mrs.? And you’re a lawyer??

Even though she hasn’t worked for the Mets since 1976, the team is still paying her until the year 2057.

I guess she was upset when Conan found Mr. Met plying “other” trades on the street. Heart breaking really….. You can look it up on You tube. I’d link it, but it’s rated R.

How could you not know?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSnmOxUkZFE

There is also the commercial of Dan Patrick telling Mr. Met at lunch how Steiner (?) “just kept going on and on about he and Mrs. Met.”

      Charlie Steiner, former ESPN anchor.

I know who Charlie Steiner is, I just wasnt sure if it was him or one of the other anchors that Patrick was referring to.
