As expected, the Nationals have activated Ryan Zimmerman from the disabled list for tonight’s game after the third baseman missed nearly two months with a abdominal injury that required surgery.

Zimmerman slides back into the lineup as the No. 3 hitter, with Jayson Werth remaining in the leadoff spot and Mike Morse hitting cleanup against the Cardinals.

Zimmerman had an OPS above 1.000 prior to the injury and had an OPS above 1.000 while rehabbing in the minors, whereas fill-ins Alex Cora and Jerry Hairston Jr. couldn’t crack a .650 OPS in his absence.
