I’ve been a fan of the Phillies since I was born. I’m a fan and alum of the University of Miami. I took my son to Pat’s on his first birthday. And I’m so conservative that I couldn’t even vote for McCain…but dammit if I don’t have me a mancrush on the Old Gator.

I picture him sitting awake in a genuine Louis XIV fourposter canopied bed in his Pooh pajamas, clenching his bedspread till his knuckles turn white in the throes of a murderous mixed bout of insomnia and recrimination, gritting his teeth and occasionally extruding his lower lip and irritatedly trying to blow the little fuzzy ball at the end of his nightcap away from his nose.
