Jeremy Guthrie leaves game with a back strain

Orioles starter was having a nice day against the Blue Jays. He had five shutout innings under his belt with five strikeouts, but then he had to leave the game with a strained back. Updates will come later.

You never want to see a starter hurt, but given that the Orioles are probably thinking about putting Guthrie on the market before the deadline, any time lost now would kind of stink for them.

Probably tweaked the back trying to carry the team. Poor guy hasn’t had much in the way of run support this year.

I don’t buy into the idea of putting Guthrie on the market. They don’t have that many options on hand to replace him with. They’ve already raided AAA and that cupboard is bare at the moment.
