Quote of the Day: Adam Dunn on interleague play

Adam Dunn — a DH – is not a fan of playing interleague games in NL parks:

“It does suck, yes. But that’s another reason why I’m anti-interleague. It’s not fun … The interleague thing is just awful. It just ruins everything. Especially if you look at Boston. People like Ortiz. He’s having a great year, but now he’s going to have to sit a couple of games and screw up the mojo.”

Upon hearing Dunn’s complaints, Ozzie Guillen said “Well, in that case, here Adam. Take this shortstop’s glove. You’re at 6 for me tomorrow night in Arizona, dog.”

Dog? No way he’d say that. Perhaps MANG!

Yeah, not too plausible. I don’t see Ozzie pulling off a contraction like “you’re” either.

That is way too understandable to have come from Ozzie.

How much mojo does it take to go 0-3 or 1-4 like Dunn has been doing this year? It’s kinda sad that he has to reference Ortiz to lend some credibility to his argument…

Im glad he didnt refer to his own mojo, which has been working so well for him all year!

Right now Adam is all ‘Jo’ and no ‘Mo’. When’s his ‘mo’ gonna show up? I need the ChiSox to make it to the post season so as I can be entertained by Ozzie well into the fall.

      • royalsfaninfargo - Jun 16, 2011 at 8:44 PM

They have a chance, but Detroit has the pitching. At least they have Verlander. Do not fret Cur, Ozzie does the pre-game on Fox for the playoffs where he loves to make fun of Eric Karros and Chris Rose!

stick him in left, he won’t be worse than juan pierre

  6. cerowb - Jun 17, 2011 at 9:16 AM

Aw that’s a shame! He’ll just have to learn how to play the field, ya know, like real baseball players do.

  7. Old Gator - Jun 17, 2011 at 10:50 AM

You want to see Awful, Adam? Grab that glove over there and go play first base again.

    • deathmonkey41 - Jun 17, 2011 at 11:10 AM

Didn’t he play left field for a while? That was pretty ugly.

Watching Adam Dunn try to play OF and 1B for the Nats was painful. Yet Dunn considered re-signing because he wanted to continue to play 1B, where he was a liability.

Many were the times this season when Adam LaRoche made a play and one thought, Adam Dunn wouldn’t have made that play.

Don’t get me wrong, I loved Adam Dunn when he played for my team, but his best and highest use is as a DH.
