Brian Roberts won’t return from his concussion before the All-Star break

Brian Roberts was examined today by a concussion specialist who told him he needed more rest, so Brittany Ghiroli of MLB.com reports that the Orioles have ruled him out through the All-Star break.

Roberts initially suffered the concussion while sliding head-first into first base on May 16 and the All-Star break is hardly an established timetable, as Ghiroli writes that “his return after that continues to be cloudy.”

In other words, he’ll definitely miss at least two months and the Orioles have no idea when he’ll ultimately be back, which unfortunately sounds an awful lot like what happened to Justin Morneau and Jason Bay following their concussions last season.

It’s a step up from last season when he did it hitting himself in the head with a bat.

Why are football players out 2-3 weeks and this Sally is out 2-3 months?
