“stoankold” is right. This is to MLB’s detriment NOT to welcome an owner like Cuban. The Mavs title proves he knows how to build a winner on the field, and his business acumen proves he knows how to make a franchise fiscally profitable off the field. So, MLB, where’s the downside? Unfortunately, the McCourts screwed the Dodgers up so badly, Cuban probably wouldn’t want them, even as desperately as he’d love to be in baseball.

If the dodgers are as bad off as the media stories keep saying then this is a no brainer. Let cuban buy in, he will fix the finances in short order as well as most likey start his own network on the air, rsn or what have you, not selling the teams fuure for a short term fox loan. Mlb should be begging cuban to buy in not the other way around.

I love the idea of Cuban as an owner. I do believe we’d see the first manager ejected by an umpire for arguing followed by an owner ejected for arguing if he was ever allowed in the ’30-Club’.

He’d care about fielding a winner and would in general be entertaining in interviews when Bob Davidson or Cowboy Joe West screws over his team. The guy has unlimited upside as an owner in terms of a good team, and quality management, but is far to vocal, passionate, and interested in the sport itself to ever be let in the door by the greedy, bloodless, stodgy old farts of The 30.

I saw him on Jimmy Kimmel and he talked about when he was interested in buying the Cubs. I guess he got annoyed that he had to kiss the asses of owners in order to pay however million to by the team. Said if he is paying millions someone should be kissing his ass. Was kind of funny.

At least he would be able to pay the bills. Can’t say that about current management.

this sounds to good to be true. honestly anybody is better than the McCourt family at this point. however Cuban would turn this franchise back on the right track he loves winning & will do whatever it takes to win a title thats every Dodgers fans dream.

Bud Selig doesn’t want Cuban for several reasons. First one being, he’d be all over Selig about MLB not have a floor amount that teams have to spend on product instead of just pocketing the money from the venues contributing to the coffers of MLB. Plus, most owners don’t want him for this very reason.

He wants to be “Hollywood” so bad. No MLB franchise is more Hollywood. Nothing would stop him from making the Dodgers the N.L. version of the Yankees. That’s exactly what Selig and MLB doesn’t want.

At least he has the money! He may be an eccentric crank, but so what? Does the name “Steinbrenner” ring a bell?

Cuban brought the Mavericks from a laughingstock to a world champion in a decade. That’s a pretty admirable track record.

Say what you will about him, but he actually CARES about the on-field/court product. He’s exactly what MLB and the Dodgers need. Of course for this reason he’ll never be considered. Can’t have anyone disrupt the status quo.

MLB could use a pot stirring owner like Cuban. It’s short sighted to keep him out simply because he’s “loud”.
