Midnight Sun game called due to darkness

Jun 22, 2011, 5:30 PM EDT

Midnight sun

I don’t know why I find this so funny, but I do: the annual Midnight Sun baseball game played up in Fairbanks, Alaska was called for darkness early this morning.

An approaching storm entered into the mix too, but I’m not going to let that take away from the delicious irony. Assuming it is irony. There’s always someone who plays the role of Buzz Killington whenever irony is invoked.

Anyway, they’ll resume the game tonight. Here’s hoping it doesn’t get delayed by an eclipse or something.

Baseball game played at midnight called for darkness in the morning? Yeah, that seems like the textbook definition of irony. I’m no English major though.

Mhmmm doctor. I just checked the laughability factors, they all check out good. The pH (pHunny) index is stable. Yes sir, I do believe we have irony here!

Don’t they have lights at these Ballparks?

Also, if you’re ever in Wichita around the first of August. All these Summer League teams, like the two playing in this game, play in the National Baseball Congress World Series. During the first weekend they have “Baseball Round the Clock”. Where for 72 straight hours there is a baseball game going on..

    Good times.
