Comments on: Royals have too much pitching, go to six-man rotation

Maybe the thinking goes like this. We have 6 pitchers who we honestly cannot decide who is more worthy of starting, so why not just let them all try, its not like we are going anywhere anyway, it will save some mileage on the younger arms, and let the chips fall where they may. Since the Royals have been so sucky choosing their starters recently, why not let them just play out the string and make our evaluations later.

There needs to be a story on my boy Brace Face (Alcides Escobar) and Alex Gordon. Both have a chance of getting the gold glove which is a cool bright spot for the Royals.

For the love of God what kind of dirt does Kyle Davies have on Glass/Moore? I thought it was a good thing that the Royals rotation was finally good (go ahead snicker, I am) enough to force Davies out. Yet, he comes back from the DL and they have create a spot for him.

He is the worst SP in MLB History for as many IP’s. Eat the salary and designate hit for assignment.

….which the Royals would do….why? None of the pitchers make any real money (at least, for a ML pitcher, they don’t).

I realize that it is an off-handed comment, but it is the accumulation of these types of comments and the greed/entitlement they represent through time by Yankee/Red Sox fans that grow dislike for those fan bases.

Players can’t develop if they can’t play. Keeping Francis and Davies in the rotation is stupid, but that’s the kind of decision that Royals fans have come to expect from Dayton Moore.

And Matthew is right. Yost isn’t to blame, becasue everyone knows he has no power over these kinds of decsions. It’s all on the puppet master.

Normally I’d point out how stupid a six man rotation is, but it’s not like the Royals are going to do anything this year anyway. If it keeps some miles off the arms of guys they may actually use in the future, I guess it’s defensible.

Look at the era’s for these guys, they would be fine at double A. I don’t think any other team will hold their breath waiting to trade for any of these guys.

So either 6 bad starters are better than 5 or……WTF? April was fun while it lasted, but just like that 13 year old whose voice is cracking when he speaks the other ball has dropped and the Royals are back to being what everyone knew they would this year. Here is to Hosmer, Moose, Duffy, Crow etc… gettting better and when the rest of the youngins come up slowly but surely turning this around. Like I always say, Look out 2013!
