Stephen Strasburg throws at full speed

Good news for the Nats, as their ace of the future’s rehab from Tommy John surgery continues apace.

Stephen Strasburg threw fastballs at full speed for the first time since he went down last year — 20 in all — and told the assembled sporting press than he felt great afterward.  Of course it’s touch and command — not so much arm strength — that takes the longest in a TJ rehab.

Either way, Strasburg should be ready to go full speed next spring.  For Davey Johnson or whoever is calling the shots in the Nats’ dugout.

The phillies and mets are going to see their W-L records take a hit starting 2012.

that would imply that the Mets have win anything this year. Even their most ardent fans, Wright, Reyes, and heck Wilpon himself would admit otherwise.

Continuing good news on the recovery front.

*No Nationals managers were harmed in the making of this reply.*

When Stephen Strasburg gets healthy him and Jordan Zimmerman look like they could be a good one two punch

The entire NL East is getting better. A lot of young talent on the Nationals, Marlins, and even the Mets. The Braves are a good team now and they also have a lot of young talent. The Phillies run has been very impressive but will be coming to an end in the next few seasons.

If Junichi Tazawa’s AA re-debut last night was any indication, “touch and command” definitely trails arm strength. The gun was off for some reason, but there was life in that fastball. But Lordy Loo, where was it going?
