Just think of Wolff as Angelos-lite. An empty stadium is ok as long as the revenue sharing money exceeds payroll. TV money is thus 100% profit, plus any extra from the suckers who do show up to games and pay the ridiculous seat prices and parking fees.

Every corporate entity in the East Bay thinks the A’s are not long for this locale. That’s why Overstock only had to pay $ 1.5m/year for “naming rights.” Compare that to the Dodgers “bad” deal.

As for Selig, the sooner he retires, the better.

Boy, do you readers not get it. Once you see Selig as a crime boss, it’s all clear and consistent as vig. McCourt broke the code, got his hands too deep in the till and balls broke by his frail, but worse than that, both quite publicly, and has to be taken out. LewW is a crony’s crony. They are playing the various municipalities that want the A’s, on a slow, shrewd extortion racket.

Not only is it rude, but these public officials are asking to help him grow his private business. If I ran a company, and a city asked me when I’d decide if they could help me pay for a brand new facility, I would answer.
