the Mets scored 58 runs in 4 games prior to the Yankees series. They have the top hitter in the National Leauge and their pitching has been solid. How does this make them a AA team?

The Red Sox fans make the rivalry more of what it is than the Yankees fans. They are the ones tired of looking up at the Yankees.

I have been rooting for the Yankees for more than 45 years. Back in the days when the Yanks were finishing dead last in a 10 team league.

Don’t generalize.

I take joy no matter what team the Yanks beat and I am disapointed no matter whom they lose to.

I can take it, I rarely give it.

To be more accurate- the ball got loose because of another sloppy play by Nunez- followed by a nonchalant attempt to go after it. Kind of getting tired of the half-assed plays by him and Cano.

Yeah, and I guess the Phillies aren’t that good either. They play in a crappy division, so they shouldn’t take joy in having the best record in baseball. Those frauds!

I love it when folks make comments like this. Starting off with a comment of how bad the opponent is – like it or not, the Mets are indeed an MLB team.

Then the “Yankees fans take great joy in beating an inferior team.” NEWS FLASH! Most fans of sports teams take great joy when their team wins, regardless of the opponent.

And the lame statement about the Red Sox – as if the Sox didn’t field a competitive team in any of those 86 years.

And the generalization of Yankees fans is lazy. It is akin to calling all Phillies Phans jerks, all Braves fans apathetic, and all Dodgers fans criminal thugs. It is an indicator of someone that lacks baseball knowledge, or lacks the ability to take the effort to make a legitimate argument.

it was an allstar team vs a aa team, the better team won but as usual Yankee fans take great joy in beating an inferior team, there biggest rival is a team that didn’t win for 86 years. they love to give it out but can’t take any criticism, at least the newer fans can’t l. they have no clue about real baseball

Bottom 7 Reyes on 1st, advanced to second on Turner’s fly out to DEEP center, when the ball got loose on the infield Reyes attempted to advance to 3rd but was out at 3rd.

Also, Matt, Mariano gave up ONE hit in the inning and came in with one out and one on in a non-save situation, he did not give up two singles in the inning.

interesting to note that on the Mets postgame show they showed a replay that appeared to show the tag touching Reyes and the two hosts, Carlin and Ojeda decided that the umpires call was correct.

On the Yankee post game show they seemed to indicate they believed the umpire missed the call.
