Not that I have any brief for Sox fans, but the first time I went to Camden Yards was in 2002 and the Orioles played the Sox, and more than half the crowd was rooting for the Sox. That was before the rings – heck it was a meaningless September game after the Sox had been eliminated from the post-season.

As an Orioles “fan,” Boston “fans” are much more annoying than Yankees fans. They’re much more annoying than Phillies fans. And they came out of NOWHERE. Seriously, I never saw anyone wearing a Boston Red Sox hat/jacket/anything until that first ring a few years back. Now all of a sudden they’re everywhere.

As for cheering in visiting stadiums… I really don’t mind the cheering/yelling when Boston makes a great play. But when you
Sawks fans try to start “chants” you’re really just asking for trouble. That’s when it just crosses a line that there’s really no reason to cross.

They’ve been allegedly “rebuilding” since 2008 and they haven’t gotten better. They’ve gotten worse.

What does he expect? The Astros are consistently awful and have been for many years and show no signs of improvement whatsoever. It’s difficult to make the fans care in that kind of depressing situation. The people that really should be blamed are Drayton McLane, Ed Wade, and the hapless coaching staff. Not the fans.

I don’t quite understand why everybody hates on the Astros. Yes they are dogshit now but let’s not forget they used to have one of the best franchises of the past decade. Thats what rebuilding is. It hurts but it is something that has to be done.
