Yes, I agree that "old three packs a day" Leland since the 2006 season has largely gotten a media hall pass because of his past reputation. Even his 2006 pennant winning team was very poor fundamentally, as in the world series his team played like the old Keystone Cops.

All of the White Sox and Indian fans though did have a good belly laugh at the Tigers ineptness once again during interleague play this season, which again is a direct reflection of their manager.

Like most fans, I just bristle anytime an owner allows his GM to go out and try and buy a championship, and that's exactly what Ilich allowed Dumbrowski to do, so although I have nothing against the individual players involved, the failure of Dantrel Willis and Magglio Ordonez busting his ankle (effectively ending his career), is a bit of poetic justice.

The Tigers payroll hit $142M in 2007 and given the market that they play in and in a market that has the highest unemployment rate in the entire nation, it clearly wasn't justified but does have a big ripple effect on all other MLB teams, as Dumbrowski continues to polish Scott Bor-ass' knob. :-(

Out of all the coaches Leyland should be gone. He's changes the line up way to much and always wants to get his butt buddy Ryan Raburn into play even though he's crap and makes errors non stop and can't hit if his life depended on it. When Carlos Guillen gets back Leyland will make Boesch and Raburn split time in the outfield which is ridiculous. And lloyd mcclendon is a horrible hitting coach
