Man, I wouldn’t even use that button Gator If i had it. I enjoy showing everyone just how stooooopid I can be. No, actually I have had the occasion where I would have liked to have gone back to fix something I flubbed. But I do think it would be used for other things as I mentioned above. Maybe I could learn to appreciate what Homer mentioned? Probably.

Regardless, the guy was crazy for just giving the ball away to a player who almost left this fan’s favorite team because they had the audacity to only offer him twice his fair market value instead of three times.

Going back to the days when I used to post on a sports forum, they had a feature where you can only edit your post 5-10 minutes after it goes up. Afterwards your post was locked. That way you can see that you made a silly spelling mistake… and fix it in time. But, as Johnny alluded to… it also prevent the calling out and deleting the post thing people would do.

I have a solution. Give the EDIT FUNCTION! to everyone except Johnny5. Then, when he commits a typo, misspelling, mangles a syntax or some other as yet unclassified form of faux pas, he can have his wish and remained impaled upon it like a bug on a pin in some kid's insect collection project for his high school science fair. It's not what I'd want for myself or my descendants, but Johnny5 seems more concerned than I am for having his goofs preserved for posteriority. I have no desire to frustrate him. Like the song says, "Soonah or lateh, alligatah, he gonna snap yo ass."

For all the posters saying that the fan would have to pay taxes on the Seats, you are correct. He would also have to pay taxes on the value of the balls, bats and jerseys. He would also pay income taxes on any money he received for the ball. The IRS always gets their money.

look the guy did what he wanted to and nobody forced him to give it up. it is not up to Jeter to pay off this guys debts.Jeter earned the money he has and if he wants to pay off the kids debt fine but nobody should to him to what to do with his money. the guy seems happy he did what he did so leave him alone already.stop trying to make him feel like an idiot for not trying to blackmail Jeter.

I did a quick comparison, and the yearly on-campus tuition for St. Lawrence is $55k, and the 4-year public, accredited state school I attended is $17k. I don’t know why people choose private school unless: 1. Their parents can pay for it, 2. They are receiving huge help from scholarships/grants, or 3. The level of prestige from the school/program the student is admitted to is very high.

Whats Jeter make around 100 grand per game, no way he could afford to do anything in this economy.

If you don’t think the team of people who met with him weren’t assembled and prepared in advance to get that ball off of whoever happened to catch it, you live under a rock (or with your parents)

They got over on him, and I’m sure by the end of the week he will express regret and say he felt pressured.
