Ed Wade is a dufus!!!! While I thank him for Roy Oswalt, there’s no way in help he gets credit for the Phillies!! We have a great team of scouts that built the farm system!! Pat Gillick put the finishing touches on that 08 team! Wade is a clown!!!

Wade has helped establish the Astros farm system much like he did for Philadelphia. He is more valuable in rebuilding a franchise than he gets credit for.

I’ve heard people in Philly claim that Ed Wade did great things for the Phillies when he was there. I’ve also heard people claim that he was the reason they were so bad for so long. Do you give Wade any credit for the farm system of a team? If so, I’d say he deserves credit and then might somehow give Houston down the road (like long after he’s gone). Or should one give that credit to the scouts they had in place? I’ve heard this debate a million times, but would love to hear some HBT opinion on Ed Wade over his career. If you or Craig or anyone over there felt like writing an op ed piece on him, other than the sampling you’ve given of his current debacles, I’m sure a few poeple would like to get some more facts about the guy to help put his career in perspective and therefore appreciate it. Just a thought.
