Vlad has a 279 BA with a 314 OBP and a 385 slugging for a 700 OPS. Since he doesn’t walk and his OBP is almost entirely BA dependent his woba is 309 and his OPS+ is 94. Fangraphs has him at exactly 0 WAR.

Please show me how advanced metrics show Vlad to still be a good hitter.

As for being one of the “few bats Baltimore has” he is 7th on the team in OPS+ among regulars and also behind Reimold who should be getting the at bats Vlad misses.

I really think that is an unfair statement, Aaron. Vlad was hit by Kyle Weiland, a young, struggling pitcher making his major league debut. I think it is widely thought that that incident was completely unintentional, especially given Weiland’s control problems that day. Point fingers at Gregg, Ortiz, Lackey, etc.—but not at the kid. If you feel it was intentional, Aaron, you should directly make the case as to why you think so. The fact that the ump ejected him is no proof of guilt.
