Perhaps because they can sign him in the off season, get him back, and not have had to invest a dime in him the last two years?

Of course I’m being a bit facetious but t’s not beyond the realm of possibility either. If for no other reason I don’t think that Wang really wants to stay in the NL. That is where he broke his foot starting all his trouble.

Can Wang return to the form he had with the Yankees? I think so. Will he go back to the Yankees? Perhaps but it not very likely. He’s just as likely to end up in Boston too. They’ll be looking for pitching after the year too. He might feel like he owes the Nats something, so that needs to be taken into consideration.

Regardless, I hope he comes back to form. He seemed like a real talent that got derailed as the result of a freak accident.

Many anxious fans here in Taiwan ready for him to make his return to the Majors.
I think he and the Yankees made a mistake when Wang came home to rehab when he was first hurt. He wasn’t quite right when he started to come back and things got worse and now it has taken a long while to get back. I do think the Yankees undervalued him at the time, which seems odd considering how effective, young, and cheap he was then. Hopefully, back he will be soon and effective for a long stretch, the fans in Taiwan love him.

For the amount of the money the Nats have paid him not to play for the past couple of years, the Yanks have signed one reclamation project after another. Why couldn’t they have held on to this guy? It’s not like they didn’t know what they had…
