Nothing makes my day sweeter than someone who disses the Burger King Eskin and Onion Ring Mushy Mike. These two are defiantly fodder for fast-food. I have yet to see either Eskin (he really does look like the Burger King King) or Mush get a trade right. ESPN has the same average in MLB. ZERO.

RAJ is going to surprise everybody and these losers will still try to get credit….

Carlos Beltran can (and very well might be) the difference between a division and a wild card for some teams, and is a proven playoff monster.

Don’t think for one second the Mets aren’t going to walk away with a huge bounty of talent just because “he’s a rental player”

And I highly doubt the Mets would want Domonic Brown at this point, he’s busting real hard and real fast. Alderson and Co will much rather go after high level pitching prospects than another dime a dozen outfielder.

Boston gave up Hanley Ramirez to get JOSH BECKETT! At the time of the trade, he’d already won the World Series MVP winning in Game 6 to beat the Yankees in New York.

Beltran (3 month rental) for a stud prospect is not the same thing. Especially since worst case senario, you’ll see Brown 15 games a year for the next 5 years.

Vance Worley wouldn’t get you Tim Byrdak, no less Carlos Beltran.

Beltran is the best hitter on the market by far and has proven that he’s not only 100% healthy again, he’s back to being one of the top outfielders in the NL.

The Mets aren’t going to take garbage for a guy pacing for 85+ extra base hits AND paying the remaining six million dollars on his contract.

And no, I wouldn’t trade Dillion Gee for Ryan Howard (check their respective WARs).

I am awake. What I was saying is that we shouldn’t trade ANYONE to get Beltran, and that Mikey Miss and Eskin both suck at what they do. Beltran is overrated, breaks down, and would be a rental player. If the Braves want him, great. I don’t care if they sign him. The Phillies have the best record in baseball and don’t NEED to go get anyone. Although they may be interested in doing so, they don’t NEED to make a trade. If the Braves get Beltran, I’m still penciling in the Fightins to go to the NLCS, and should they play the Braves in the NLCS, I’m writing them into the World Series. I think you totally misread what I wrote and made an arguement against a point that wasn’t made. The Phils won a championship not long ago and therefore don’t have the wounds that need be healed by trading anyone to win another one. They’re favored to win another one without trading anyone, so why shuold they give up good potential long term guys for a 2 month rental? A 2 month rental that could easily still break down in a week nonetheless. The Mets should be happy to get anyone for Beltran since he’ll be gone afte the season anyway, so it’s not far fetched to think they’d take a young starting pitcher with very good potential for a old player who’s past his prime and doesn’t always produce. Regardless, it’s not the point I was making. The point I was making was that Beltran isn’t worth giving up either Worley or Brown, and I think NinJr. knows it.

Would you trade Ryan Howard for Dillon Gee? Give me a break dude. Either the Phils part with Domonic Brown or Beltran is going to the Braves for Mike Minor. From what the local media says, many insiders, the Minor deal has already been offered. The Mets are waiting to see if they can pry Brown from the Phillies because he’s a better player & they want a position player who can play immediately in return. If you want the best available hitter in a pitching dominated year, you have to give up your best. My guess is that the Phillies give in & send Brown packing. They’re a win now team & they need the hitter before another year adds onto the arms of Halladay & Lee. Look at Boston with Hanley Ramirez; a championship will heal all wounds of giving up your best prospect. You’re crazy if you think the Mets are going to settle for Vance Whorley, a spot-starting pitcher with average stuff while a stud pitching prospect has already been offered. The Mets will NOT give their most hated in-division rival the player they need to get over the top for anything less than their best prospect; they certainly won’t do it for a spot starting fringe player. Time to wake up, bro, and realize you’re not getting a bargain here.

Ed Wade specializes in running baseball franchises to the ground.

When I saw the report of the Astros listening to offers for their most marketable player, I had visions of the soon-to-be new owner pulling out of the deal.

The owner to be obviously has consultants and research people looking into what he will be acquiring. Letting Ed Wade make a decision on his primary asset makes no sense at all. If the new GM wants to trade Pence he can get just as much if not more for him in the coming off-season.

These ESPN people follow Peter Gammons lead in making up rumors that make no sense and seldom come to pass.

This is typical NinJr. dissinformation, to be immediately followed by a smoke bomb and Pence in a Phillies Uniform with Kendrick, Fransico, and Mayberry Jr. waking from a surprise nap to find themselves wearing Astros gear in a room with a smiling Ed Wade Claiming “We sure got a deal on these guys!” Beware of the Ninja. Beware. On a side note to all Philly guys, did anyone hear Miss Mike-anelli talking about needing to trade V-Dub (my favortie of the nicknames suggested from yesterday) to get Carlos Beltran? And there are tons of people that buy into everything he says. Can’t Philly sports talk radio find anyone good to work 2 (or 3) to 7? Id’ take Rob Ellis sliding down a time slot in a heart beat. Mikey Mush talking about “We gotta try to move Worley to get Beltran, and Worley isn’t gonna be enough. What good has this guy shown you in the big leagues that makes you think he’s gonna be worth anything? Most of the teams he’s won against are weak teams anyway.” Yeah Mike, cause good, even great pitchers NEVER lose to bad teams. Oh yeah, not to mention the guy beat the Red Sox and the Braves this year. He’s a young pitcher (pitchers being the most important postion in baseball) that has a lot of potential. Beltran is a rental player that could still break down before the year is over, especially with his injury track record. Still better than Eskin, but starting to make it a close race. The only thing Eskin has going for him are good sources with the Eagles. If it weren’t for that, he’d be tossed out of this town on his butt for bad mouthing Cholly like he does. I pity Ike Reese for having to work with him. Hell, I’d take the “Jason ‘El Bravo’ Heyward Show” for my ride home commute. At least I’d get a laugh out of it.
