It appears that the leak came from an executive from another team. Toronto wants talent for the long run rather than this year and could come up with a package that included Triple A first baseman David Cooper (.367 & .999 OPS) a top catching prospect and a very good Double A or Single A pitching prospect. Eric Thames is also a possibility, but I doubt that he would be traded. My point is that the Jays have the prospects to make a trade work.

I really don’t want the Yankees to get him. He’d be pretty perfect for them, not only addressing a big need for this year and next, but he’s a great fit for their stadium as well.
