Never smoked it. The trick was to gulp it down, drink some water so you wouldn’t dry heave when the nausea hit about twenty minutes later, and then just relax and enjoy the head. It was the semi-official way to spin a newly released Airplane, Dead, Quicksilver or Youngbloods album back in the day. You just had to hope that the idiots downstairs weren’t planning on putting on the long version of “In-a-gadda-da-vida” at the same time – it had a way of perpetuating the mescaline scrumpies.

This is a lost planet season for the Feesh anyway, so why push it? Shut him down, deal proactively with whatever is wrong, and let him open the season at the brand spanking currently larval Macondo Banana Massacre Field in April.

Clearly JJ can’t handle a starting pitcher role. He’s got nasty stuff, could easily use him to close out games to try to save his arm.

I am starting to wonder whether Josh Johnson will ever be able to reach his potential because of these persistent arm problems. Is the one pitcher when I look at the upcoming schedule I say to myself, “Oh shit, the Marlins have Johnson going…how in the hell are the Phillies going to win this game.” Often overlooked in Halladay’s perfect game was how dominant Johnson was on the other side. It took a Cameron Maybin error to do anything that game.
