I don't think getting Zambrano is a good idea but the Cubs bring the idea to the Yankees doesn't seem that far fetched.

If anyone in the Yankee FO had suggested at the end of last season that the Yankees would have Colon and Garcia as important parts of their rotation and that they would be doing as well as they have been they would have been sent for drug testing on the spot. Circumstances forced the Yankees to think out of the box and try things that they normally wouldn't have given a second thought to. If the Cubs were willing to eat a big part of his salary why would it be so far fetched for the Yankees take a chance on him?

That being said, .. hey lets not over do it with the come back stories.

Reported to camp the 1st year of more rigorous PED testing noticeably lighter. Fastball went from 96 to 92-3. Pretty much hasn't been worth a shit since.

You figure it out.

This is what happens when an athlete becomes the sole focus of the team, but in a negative way. Now he has made himself practically untradeable and to a team that's always in the hunt year after year. The Cubs will be stuck with this contract until the end, and at best he is now a middle of the rotation guy, no longer an ace.
