Colby Rasmus trade: the he-said, he-said in video form

Jul 28, 2011, 1:00 PM EST

Video cameras found both Colby Rasmus and Tony La Russa following the trade yesterday.  They each had particularly Rasmus-esque and La Russa-esque takes on the matter.

First Rasmus who, when asked about La Russa, says “I hope he’s happy”:

Now La Russa, who talks about how young players “are spoiled.”

Say what you want about the value the Cardinals got back for him. It’s pretty damn clear that the two of these guys couldn’t operate in the same organization any longer.

Why didn’t these two gentlemen just go onto Dr. Phil to remedy their relationship? Why did it have to come to this? Oh, the pain of divorce!

I really dislike Tony LaRussa. As much as I dislike Rasmuss, I hope he goes to the Hall of Fame and Larussa’s alive to see it.

Is it just me or is La Russa’s hair getting into Donald Trump territory?

I guess there was too much traffic on the high roads at the time of these interviews…..

This entire exchange is a festival of tedium. I don’t know how much growing up Tony Larussa has to do, but Colby sounds like his father has arrested his development like the landing wires on an aircraft carrier.
I’m sick of listening to all three of them.
