true, but Theo has made some big moves at the deadline and if there was ever a time for a another one this is it. considering 3 of our best prospects are already gone I could see him giving up the rest to round out his team. the Red Sox need pitching and I hope Theo’s experiences with Penny and Smoltz don’t lead him to pick up a guy like Harden. Hi Ari. My other source is the team that is willing to trade him. If he is as good as projected by BA, why trade him? He is a 20 year old kid who should be in Single A not Double A where his confidence is being eroded because of too many losses.

I’m a Sox fan, and I agree it would be fun to see them get Jimenez. However, they generally don’t make this kind of blockbuster deal. They let some other team lose their cool and give up the farm.

Oh? Do you have another source that thinks less of him? Or have you scouted him extensively yourself?

BA is not the only source, by any means. But they talk to a LOT of scouts. And when a prospect flames out, that doesn’t mean they were “wrong.” Prospects fail to adjust to the majors all the time, but nearly every player in the majors was a prospect at some point.

Turner may be Detroit’s top prospect, but that does not mean much. He is being offered because compared to other teams, he is not a top prospect and may never make it to the majors.
