The way I hear it they weren't really all that big on him, not really their kind of left hander. That being said if they could have gotten the Astro's to eat alot of that contract then it would have been workable for them. They have already moved Banualos up to AAA and he will probably be up by Sept.1 or sooner. This guy is their kind of lefty, throws alot of gas . We'll see if he has enough mound presence.

I'm a bit surprised the Yankees wouldn't throw down the cash. Wandy's not really overpaid, and there won't be a big upgrade on the FA market until after 2012.

Of course, they could trade for him tomorrow as long as he passes through waivers.

Well, all things considered I am glad the Yankees did not over pay for Wandy. Really do not see giving away a high rated prospect for this purpose. The recalamation gang may run out of gas, or maybe they won't. Truth is, inconsistent performance at the plate will be at least as big a problem down the stretch. While the Yankees score runs in abundance, they don't have a regular everyday bat hitting over .300. Not what one usually expects in the Bron-x. Bullpen is a little tenuous, too. Yankee fans would do well to remeber that while the marquee free agents are a staple of the diet, the "core-four" now winding down their careers drove the recent "dynasty", and came from their farm system. Any continuation of that isgoing to have to come from there again too.

Hahahahahahaha!!! I'm suprised Ed Wade didn't do it. He gives money to every other team he deals with.

It must tell you something about the Yankees opinion of Wandy Rodriguez if they want another team to eat money.
