I think that it will happen when the Roster is expanded and it would be a situation where the Yankees would give Montero a taste of what it is like on the Big Club. Jorge will hit and will be a valuable part of this team. The future of this club will be to bring the talent along slowly and let them get a taste of life in the AL East. We have all seen what desperation has done to many clubs to try to win now. The Sox got Erik Bedard because their pitching is in turmoil and see the Yankees in the rear view mirror. The Sox move could backfire because Bedard has plenty of health problems and has not pitched in a whole season in years.The Yankees are in a great position without the services of many of their important parts. Arod will be back soon to contribute and the pitching has more than held up. August and September will be interesting to see how things will play out!

Unfortunately they’re also reluctant to rely on them and ultimately would rather have AJ Burnett than Ivan Nova (not a top-tier prospect, but he does have a higher upside than Burnett at this point). That’s just one example, but the Yankees would rather have past their prime veterans than untested prospects. The result is a logjam of talent at the upper levels of the minor leagues. But hey, they’ve succeeded in building one of the best AAA teams around. Congrats. Now let’s bring up Montero and sit him on the bench, then call up Banoelos and put him in the back of the bullpen. That’ll help.
