The Twins will have some TOUGH decisions coming soon.

The outfield is simply too stacked with SPAN, YOUNG, KUBEL, and CUDDYER, and with Revere upcoming. Cuddyer has shown he is versatile and willing to help the team no matter what.

The Minnesota Twins and Cuddy have a mutual appreciation for each other so I would not be that surprised for Cuddy to take a slight pay cut to stay.

It would be great if the Twins offered Cuddyer arbitration, let him go, and collected the draft pick.

Signing a long-term contract for a guy who has been merely an average player (once his fielding is factored in) but his now having a career year at age 32 doesn't sound like a good investment. The Twins have to pick and choose where they invest better than that. The Twins have been pretty good about holding on to their stars, but they also have to "know when to fold 'em." Outside of 2011, Cuddyer hasn't been a star.

Am I missing something here. The guy is currently making $10M plus this season and a team in an attempt to keep him offers him a 2 year deal for $16M total. The guy's having a very good year by any measure. Even if he just went to arbitration after the end of the year he'd probably make $14M for 1 season. What in the world were the Twins thinking. God they gave Pavano a 2 year $16M deal. I don't think the Twins could have insulted him any more if they smacked him in the face with a glove and challenged him to a duel.
