Yeah, it's going to get like the coast of Somalia around here pretty soon. Watch this:

That dull "plop" you heard last night was the Feesh landing atop of the Gnats in the NL East basement again. There are dryer cellars in New Orleans. Last night they played a rain-soaked bumblefest against the Cardinals that would have embarrassed the Three Stooges; Logan Morrison failed to call for a short outfield popup on an Alphonse and Gaston routine with the recently returned from the dead Alfredo Amezaga that fell from LoMo's mitt for a blown third out and led to a rain-soaked three run inning for the Cards, sabotaging yet another excellent performance by Javy Vasquez. A couple of innings later Man Mantis did collide with Emilio Bonifacio on another play, sustaining a spike gash on his left leg that needed five stitches. A couple innings after that, Bonifacio celebrated slashing his teammate by throwing wildly to first and opening the gates for another few runs. And of course, the Feesh demonstrated their love of stranding RISPies multiple times, apparently too polite to take advantage of all the walks and rain-slurried infield grounders that went for singles.

Hanley flirts with the DL as he contemplates the revenge his accursed .342 amulet exacted from him when he fell on his shoulder the other night. That's what he gets for throwing it in the ocean off St. Petersburg last month. It came back anyway, appearing in his seafood paella on south beach a week later, and he damned near cracked a tooth on it.

The Bravos come in tonight. It's raining again. I smell ugliness afield for this series.

Does that mean there won't be any ATH? Are we going to have nothing to discuss except injuries, benchings and legal stuff? Where O where shall we discuss the games?

We probably need to take matters into our own hands and declare the first blog the new day the ad hoc locale to discuss yesterday's actions. That would technically make the Posada blog the one but since we're already here, maybe we should get underway below? Whaddya'll think?

That's rough. The kid was having quite a year with the bat and looked like a great designatedhitterball star in the making, someone the Mutts could trade, even in the near term, for a fine baseball player.

This does seem to have been an horrific season for injuries all around, though. The Feesh gagged up a four game sweep to the Cardinals this past weekend and lost three of their own in the process, although Mike Cameron seems able to hit at his usual sub-Mendoza level and provide veteran leadership even with his sprained wrist.

Where's out "And That Happened" this morning? Craig's computer melt in the heat wave? And what are you doing up so early, DJ? No reports in the news of any action along the fault that might have thrown you out of bed.
