If he is really being offered $3.5 to $4 million dollars, why wouldn’t he take that money? If they start slotting draft picks in another couple years, even if he is picked in 5th, he won’t see that much money. And if he gets hurt or doesn’t pitch as well, he won’t be picked that high anyway.

He’s 18 and he is being offered millions. Take the money. You’ll be that much closer, if not already in the big leagues when you are 21. And if you suck, then you’ll have $4 million and can go to college with some cash in your portfolio..
