Frank Howard is beloved here in DC among those of a certain (relatively advanced) age. That is, old enough to remember the Senators.

Nats Park has 3 statues in Centerfield Plaza (where most fans enter the park from Metro). Frank Howard is one of them. (The others are Walter Johnson & Josh Gibson).

So, according to this list . . . Dan Uggla has the most Home Runs during a hitting streak of 30 or more games since . . . . Joe DiMaggio. Or we could say Uggla has the 2nd most home runs during a hitting streak of 30 or more games in MLB history.

Either one sounds improbable and if it didn’t just happen, we’d all laugh at anyone who said it.

Not surprised to see Joe D at the top but I find fascinating is that his HR pace in the streak works out to 43 HR in a full 162 games.

If you take the likes of McCovey, Arod, Klein & Ruth, the paces they set would translate to anywhere from 85 to 100 HR over 162 games. Talk about being dialed in.
