I'm a Rays fan too who was very pleased with last game's also. Price's good outing was much needed and Peralta striking out the side in the 9th was especially encouraging. However, I realize it will take miracle for the Rays to come close to the playoffs--a catastrophic collapse by either the Sox or Yanks coupled with the Rays playing at something like .700 ball (didn't do the math-just a guesstimate). While I do appreciate the enthusiasm so rarely seen in my fellow fans, hittfamily, you might want to tone down the trash talking just a little until we actually accomplish something this year.

Thanks for contributing. You will likely end up with lots of thumbs down, because a headline here beat you to it by over an hour.. However, most people here thumbs down my posts because I think outside the bun, so that might offset it.

I might be nuts, but in my posting, I realized something: The Rays players have the best nicknames in the league.

Full Price (David Price)
Hell Boy (Jemermy Hellickson)
The Zorilla (Ben Zobrist)
Big Game James, Complete Game James(more recently) {James Shields}
Steamin Niehmann ( Jeff Niehmann)
The Phenom (Sam Fuld)
Klutchmann (Casey Kotchmann)

I'm not going to include Longo, cause that sucks. ARod, KRod, AGon (Ad Gonz), CC (Crawfod), Youk, Mo(Rivera)....those nicknames suck as well.

The best, other than the Rays, who clearly dominate, are Big Papi (fat ass in Boston), the Freak (pot smoker in SanFran), The Natural (Rays bust turned best CF in baseball), Doc (cheesesteaker).

Am I forgetting anyone?

I was reading elsewhere that Zambrano cleaned out his locker and was talking of retiring according to Mike Quade

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-cubs-zambrano
“I’m really disappointed,” Quade said. “His locker is empty. He walked out on 24 guys … I don’t know where he’s gone or what he’s doing.

“He’s talking about retiring … but I can’t have a guy walking out on 24 guys.”

You are nuts for thinking the Rays still have a chance. However, I like your enthusiasm. Entertaining post.

Needs a bathia. Love it. Thumbs up!!!

Tonight wasn't half Price, it was FULL PRICE!!! David Price shut down those bums. Sabathia got crushed. Look out AL, the Rays are on a terror. 5 games in a row. Down 10.5 games last week, the Rays currently sit at 7.5 back in the wild card. Hell Boy and Big Game James will close the door on the Yanks future tomorrow and Sunday. Price has the Rays 5th best ERA of the starters this year, and the Yanks only managed 1 run. Meanwhile, everyone but the batgirl took NeedS abathia deep 5 times. Oh my god, what is that smell? Yuk, did someone here not wash their socks? Wait, I figured it out. It smells like.....like...Da Feet.

With Desmond Jennings in the lineup, the Rays are scoring over a run a game more than without him. Sorry Yanks fans, he'll be starting the next 2 days. The Rays will be 5.5 out come monday, and any good analyst will rank the Rays ahead of the Stanks in the Power Rankings. Cowbell up!!! Go Rays.

Not only did Zambrano give up five homers, but one of them was to "Georgie" Constanza, who had only six homers in over 2,500 minor-league at-bats. When it looked like Quade was going to make Big Z wear this one to save his overtaxed bullpen, he decided to take out his temper and get tossed by throwing at Chipper Jones. Weak sauce. Weak, weak sauce.
